I am talking about the Rolex Middle Sea Race and obviously being the best or not it is a matter of opinion but it is certainly a big classic that is celebrating its 50th edition with a big fleet racing: 131 boats most of them modern cruiser-racers but also many top racing sailboats.
It is also my favorite med race and one that provides very interesting information about different type of hulls performance on the med typical conditions.
Don't miss it! The tracker: http://rolexmiddlesearace.com/tracker/

ReplyDeleteI am more interested on the performance of cruiser racers.
ReplyDeleteThere are several doing very well: Two Mylius going at the speed of the best 50ft racing boats, a Comet 50c just a bit behind and even more impressive, at the same pace a boat that I don't know, a MN43. And of course the three small JPK, one of them the new 11.88, going among much bigger boats.
Fell free to post your comments regarding boats that are impressing you.
Yes, I know the MN43 that in fact is the NMD43 made by the same builders of the Oceantec 50.
DeleteThe boat is a new version of the "old" A13, a boat posted on this blog and NMD refers to the designers, NIVELT - MURATET DESIGN.
An interesting interview about the boat and the designers:
